Zoe's first birthday

What a day yesterday! I had no idea that birthday parties were so much work. Dennis' family came over to celebrate, so there were five people to make dinner for.

Our day started off by going to safeway and getting Zoe's cake and a few things that we need for her party. Then we got busy in the kitchen making pasta sauce, I was chopping everything up and Dennis was making it. It cooked for four hours, cooked up the pasta and poured the sauce over it and grated chesse on top of it and baked it.

Time to do up all the dishes, as I was doing the dishes our sink started clog. I was a little upset at this. Why did this happen on her brithday! but I still carried on getting ready for the party. I made up a salad, garlic toast, and put up balloons. Everything was ready!

Our family came at 6 and it was dinner time.! it was so amazing everyone loved it. Cause my sink was clogged I couldn't do the dishes. After dinner we did the gifts, and Zoe got lots of nice gifts (see picture below). It was about 8 when we finished the gifts, time to move on to cake and ice cream. I go into my kichen to get all set up for it and there is Dennis' mom trying to fix my sink!

To make a long story short, Dennis' folks were doing our plumming and fixing our sink and we didn't end up eating our cake till 8:30 when Zoe normally goes to bed. She was so tired and cried when we turned off the light to blow the candle out. Everyone left at 9 and Zoe got to bed shortly after that.

Zoe's day turned out to be so awesome, minus my kitchen sink but I guess that's just how memories are made.
