Christmas with us

Christmas here was nothing too special. I didn't sleep very well from the night before and Dennis woke up feeling sick so it was a very low key day. Cause Dennis wasn't feeling so hot, we didn't end up opening the gifts till later in the day. I made a greasy breakfast and Zoe and I ate it. Then she went down for a nap and so did I, but when she got up from her nap we then opened the gifts, and that was that. I made a very nice stuffed chicken dinner with veggies which was very yummy.
It was a very busy three days of family, food and fun!

Beautiful Christmas Day

It was so nice on Christmas day I belive it was +12 out with only a little bit of snow of the ground where the sun never got to. The sun was shinning so bright it was so beautiful, I just had to take Zoe to the park so thats what I did. Zoe loves the swing so much, when it was time to take her out she started to cry. I got a really good picture of her on the swing, just happy as could be!

Chirstmas at the Coles

Christmas Eve was so nice we went over to Dennis' parents house. His Dad made a wonderful dinner, their tradition for them is ham which I don't eat but Dennis Sr (who is my Dennis' Dad) made me lamb chops! It was so nice I couldn't believe it that is my favortie. Here they all are eating ham and I have this yummy lamb on my plate it was great. It set my night right, well I was eating Dennis Sr was playing with Zoe in her high chair (she was done before me) and I got to eat a hot meal for once. When we were all done we moved on into the living room where there were gifts coming out of the tree; there were so many I couldn't believe it. Zoe got so many nice gifts she got from toys, to clothes, to things she needs, and more. It was so great, thanks it's Greatly appreciated. Then to top off the night we had cherry pie for dessert with whipped cream. What a awesome Christmas I enjoyed my night to the fullest.

Zoe's first birthday

What a day yesterday! I had no idea that birthday parties were so much work. Dennis' family came over to celebrate, so there were five people to make dinner for.

Our day started off by going to safeway and getting Zoe's cake and a few things that we need for her party. Then we got busy in the kitchen making pasta sauce, I was chopping everything up and Dennis was making it. It cooked for four hours, cooked up the pasta and poured the sauce over it and grated chesse on top of it and baked it.

Time to do up all the dishes, as I was doing the dishes our sink started clog. I was a little upset at this. Why did this happen on her brithday! but I still carried on getting ready for the party. I made up a salad, garlic toast, and put up balloons. Everything was ready!

Our family came at 6 and it was dinner time.! it was so amazing everyone loved it. Cause my sink was clogged I couldn't do the dishes. After dinner we did the gifts, and Zoe got lots of nice gifts (see picture below). It was about 8 when we finished the gifts, time to move on to cake and ice cream. I go into my kichen to get all set up for it and there is Dennis' mom trying to fix my sink!

To make a long story short, Dennis' folks were doing our plumming and fixing our sink and we didn't end up eating our cake till 8:30 when Zoe normally goes to bed. She was so tired and cried when we turned off the light to blow the candle out. Everyone left at 9 and Zoe got to bed shortly after that.

Zoe's day turned out to be so awesome, minus my kitchen sink but I guess that's just how memories are made.

First steps

Zoe took her first few steps on her own on Saturday, I've been trying to get a picture of her standing but I'm having a hard time cuase she doesn't stand for very long before losing her balance. (thats why I havn't posted about this)

Then on Monday she took five steps on her own, this is very exciting for me. It is so cute to see her walking on her own she has her legs spread out and her body is all rocky.

If anyone know has to post a moive please tell me as I would love to post one of Zoe walking.

My perfect tree

We got our first Christmas tree, I wanted to get my tree at Ikea but there were sold out, there trees are $15 and you get a coupon for $15 to send at Ikea. What a deal right? a free tree.

Dennis drove around to find another place that was selling tree's we come across a tree selling stand at canadain tire. We looked around and found this really nice perfect one but there was no price on it, so I asked the guy that was workin' it how much. his replay was this side is $60 and the other side is inbetween $20-$40. I started looking on the other side there was no way I was gonig to pay $60 when at Ikea I could buy one for $15. I was looking on the other side but Dennis didn't want to look. He ended up buying the perfect tree for $60!! Crazy..

I forgot how much work it is putting up a tree, it took me six times to get the lights looking perfect Cause there is white and blue lights that i was dealing with.

I had some silver beads that I'd sring around the tree. Then I put the balls on and I could only put them on the top hafe of the tree, caues Zoe would grab the balls if I put them all over.

So far Zoe has been good about the tree, the first time she touched it she made this wired face. She is not to sure what to think about it, when the lights are on she just stares at it.

Oh I just love Chirstmas! It's so beautiful, it's a holiday with good fun and fun!

Sticky fudge

So this afternoon I atemped to make some fudge a fudge wreath. I have never made it before and I though for the holidays it would be a nice thing to give out. I have this easy recipe I followed everything corectly and still it doesn't look as nice as the picture in the recipe. I just couldn't get it out of the pan I gressed the pan but the bottom of the fudge was too sticky. I left it in the frigde for 2 hours when the recipe called for only a hafe and hour. So it turned out to look messy, it taste really good it just doesn't look so nice. If any of you know how to make fudge please tell me what I was doing wrong and how to get it out of the pan in a more presentable way. I have all the ingredients as I was gonig to make them for family.

Bumps and bruises

I'm sitting on the couch trying to relax and I hear this loud bump then silence than a huge whale coming from Zoe's mouth. I turn around to see what had happend, oh my! I jump off the couch quikly grab her to make her feel better.

We have this fake fire place in our houes, it's made of bricks. I've been a little scard about it knowing that one day Zoe might bump her head on it. Well you can guess she hit her head hard on it, now she has this very huge bump like an egg shape and purple bruise just above her right eye.
The pictures doesn't even show how bad it really is.

Zoe has gotten lots of bumps but never this bad, and she keeps getting them. I some times think that Zoe acts blind she crawls right into everything its like she waits to head but or bump into things. Somtimes too she will be crawling and slip and her head hits the floor. Now thats she is walking more she falls on her bum, good thing for the diaper padding.

With lots of mama's love Zoe gets right back into the play, and continues to be a happy fun little girl will all her bumps and bruises.

Christmas in twenty five days

I'm getting so exctied for Christmas this year. For the past few Christmas's I've never really care about it or liked it, but this year I can't wait to get my tree and decorarte my houes. Were thinking of getting our tree next weekend, and of coures its going to be a real one.

Dennis wants to have a blue and silver tree, which I think is going to look so nice. We just got some new blue and white light. Today I think I am going to go out so I'm going to try to pick up some blue Chirstmaas ball, we have silver ones already

We still need to do our Chirstmas shopping for Zoe, there are so many toys out there for babies/toddlers it hard to pick somthing out. You never know if there going to play with it and what a waste of money that is.

Zoe doesn't even like toys, and all the toys we have we get are from Dennis's sister Debbie. It's nice but they just sit there, and I know that Dennis's folks will get her toys and Debbie tells me that she is has more toys to send our way. So Zoe doesn't need anymore.

There is always clothes but she get them though out the year, and thats no fun. Auntie Lyds got her so many nice ones too. so she is already getting some clothes.

I know I'll find somthing its just hard to pick I want somthing nice that she is going to love. It 's her first (well actully it's her second Christmas)tree and gift Christmas, so I want to make it super special.
Oh what to get what to get?
